Journal of Mechanical and Energy Engineering

The Journal of Mechanical and Energy Engineering (JMEE) as a continuation of Scientific Journal of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Koszalin University of Technology (pol. Zeszyty Naukowe Wydziału Mechanicznego Politechniki Koszalińskiej) published in Polish between 1975 and 2007.

Resumed in 2017 in a new form, the Journal of Mechanical and Energy Engineering (JMEE) publishes manuscripts on research, development and design related to science and technology in a field of Mechanical Engineering and Energy Engineering. A peer-reviewed interdisciplinary JMEE is published minimum two times in a year (up to four times) in an open access formula. There is no publication fee for the Authors of articles. The journal accepts manuscripts of two different types: original research papers and review papers.

  • Original research paper – standard article, usually presenting new results; articles published under this article type may also be referred to as Original Research, Original Article, Original Paper or Research Paper.
  • ReviewPaper – Standard article, interpreting previously published results.

Abbreviation (used for journal titles as cited works): J Mech Energy Eng

Annual schedule

The Journal of Mechanical and Energy Engineering is published four times per year and is issued free to all coumunity. Each year a new volume is published, divided into 4 issues. The issues are published on a schedule:

  • - issue 1 - end of March,
  • - issue 2 - end of June,

Online first

Editorial team is proud to announce that starting with issue 2, vol. 6(46), the Journal of Mechanical and Energy Engineering will be published in online-first mode. Articles ready for publication will be published on the JMEE website. After that, they will be published in hard copy according to the schedule.

DOI logo

We have great pleasure announce that since 2018, each article published in JMEE receives its own digital object identifier (DOI). Our journal prefix is 10.30464.

A digital object identifier (DOI) is a unique alphanumeric string assigned by a registration agency (mEDRA) to identify content and provide a persistent link to its location on the Internet. We assign a DOI when your article is published and made available electronically.

From the Editor-in-chief

Dear Sir or Madame,

After 10 years of absence, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Koszalin University of Technology is currently planning to resume its journal so far titled (Zeszyty Naukowe Wydziału Mechanicznego Politechniki Koszalińskiej in Polish). New version of journal will be drafted/published in English under new title: Journal of Mechanical and Energy Engineering.

The series will cover two technical disciplines, i.e. mechanical engineering and modern power engineering. In the field of mechanical engineering the journal covers a broad range of issues connected with mechanical design, materials processing technology, surface engineering, metrology, tribology, modeling and simulation of mechanical systems, automation, robotics, rapid technologies, maintenance and management of mechanical systems and other related problems. In terms of power and energy engineering scope of the journal covers issues related to fluids engineering, heat transfer, refrigeration and air-conditioning, energetics and renewable energy resources as well as solar energy and other similar topics.

Our initiative is based on previous editorial experience concerning publishing of Scientific Journal of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Koszalin University of Technology, that goes back to 1975, i.e. when Koszalin University of Technology was Higher Engineering School yet. First edition of journal by the Faculty was published in 1975 and was titled Manufacturing Techniques (Techniki Wytwarzania). Since 1980 our editor-in-chief was Jan Wojtkun. During the years our journal was published in two series A - Construction and B - Technology. In 1986 Wojciech Tarnowski took over the position of editor-in-chief while new layout was introduced and the title changed to Polioptimization. Since 1990 the journal was published as Scientific Journal of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Among the scietific editors we should mentione Jerzy Milanowski, Bronisław Słowiński, Wojciech Kacalak, Ewa Wachowicz and Leon Kukiełka. The editors of the last journal (published in 2007) were Wojciech Tarnowski and Tomasz Kiczkowiak. The idea of Journal of Mechanical and Energy Engineering is therefore the continuation of previous publications by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Koszalin University of Technology.

We believe, the collaboration with authors willing to publish their papers, will ensure a high scientific level of the journal. However, reliable and substantial evaluation of paper proposals received by the editorial office is mandatory. Accordingly, it is crucial to provide proper verification by recognized scientists. Therefore, I address to you, Sir or Madame, a proposal of collaboration as a reviewer of our journal. We look forward to a successful co-operation.

Best regards,
Editor-in-chief
Waldemar Kuczyński
